The McCauley Family

Christy's Farm is run by Christy and Jay McCauley, as well as a little help from their three small children.

Christy and Jay met in October of 2011 while Jay was stationed in Ft. Stewart, GA. Christy was a GA native attending Georgia Southern at the time and Jay was in the process of making a move to Ft. Bragg, NC. The two had a whirl wind romance, getting engaged after only a few short months, and ultimately tying the knot in an intimate ceremony in May of 2012. The newlyweds spent a year at Ft. Bragg before the Army brought them to the beautiful state of Tennessee, where they have since started a family and made this state their home.

Starting a farm was never in the plans, but it has happened organically. Christy has wanted to add backyard chickens since the two moved to Tennessee, it was just never a good time to do so. In 2018, they purchased a new home with a bit more land. Chickens were finally possible! Everything simply spiraled from there. The farm began with five small pullets. Five quickly became ten. Then came the bunnies. Then a pot belly pig. Then a couple more chickens. Christy and Jay, along with their kids, spent Mother's Day weekend (and coincidentally, their 7th wedding anniversary) picking up their first feeder pigs. That evening, Jay surprised Christy by officially registering their farm - he chose to name it Christy's Farm, because although the farm is for all of them, he did it for her. Ultimately, the farm was and continues to be the best gift he could have given her.
